An Exciting Day
Yesterday was a little bit exciting for me as I received an email from an editor at Creating Keepsakes (a scrapbooking magazine that I love and subscribe to) that they wanted to feature one of my layouts on their blog! I was really excited and so I thought I would share the blog post with you!

Popcorn Anyone?!
This kid absolutely LOVES popcorn... earlier this week I popped up some for us to enjoy... so we snuggled on the sofa munching on popcorn, watching TV for a while until he carried off the bowl and I found him sitting inside this wood crate with his popcorn strategically placed inside a basket... he was as happy as a clam all curled up in that crate munching away!

Louisburg Cider Mill
Two weekends ago we visited the Louisburg Cider Mill and enjoyed their annual Cider Fest festivities. Here are a few photos from our time there!
Can you believe all those apples? We were able to watch them processing the apples into cider and also watch them making cider doughnuts.
And of course after watching the doughnuts and cider being made, we had to enjoy some!!! Here's a photo of the kids enjoying theirs! I think they each had TWO they were still warm and oh so yummy!
Here are the kids posing for a photo with the pumpkins!

Making Cookies
Yesterday the kids and I made chocolate chip cookies (Rodney's favorite). We had a great time... I felt a little like a "super mom" letting them sit on the counters, make a mess, eat cookie dough AND cookies, even let Noelle wash the dishes!
Here are a few photos from our cookie making fun... hopefully I'll take the time to let them get dirty in the kitchen more often!!! It's fun and who cares about the mess right? We'll worry about that later! ;)

Lately...
Lately, Noelle has been asking me while I'm making dinner where we're going to go after "breakthast" (aka breakfast). When she first started asking me this a few weeks back I corrected her thinking she wanted to know where we were going after dinner, since I was making dinner... well, I soon figured out that she knew exactly what she was talking about and wanted to know where we were going after "breakthast" - tomorrow! This has become an everyday thing and it's cute to see her reaction to the different things we have planned. She gets excited if we are going somewhere and has little to no response if I tell her we're not planning on going anywhere. A girl who loves to be on the go!

Family Vacation 2009
A few weeks ago we took a short family vacation to St. Louis. We had a wonderful time, were able to see & do lots of fun things. The kids did a great job and had a lot of fun, despite the lack of sleep they got. Here are a few of our favorite photos from the trip. Enjoy!
The kids posing in front of a water fountain at the entrance of the St. Louis Zoo.
The kids and I on the carousel at the zoo... we ended up riding about 3 or 4 times waiting for the pouring rain to stop.
One of the sea lions we saw at the sea lion show (at the zoo). Probably one of the favorite things we saw at the zoo (besides the zoo train).
Just a glimpse of the beauty at the Missouri Botanical Gardens.
We took time to pose for a family photo at the Missouri Botanical Gardens.
The climbing beanstalk at The Magic House: St. Louis Children's Museum. This was probably the highlight of the trip for Noelle. She had a blast at the museum and really loved climbing the beanstalk several times.
Rodney & the kids pose for a photo at The Magic House.
The kids had an amazing time traipsing through this little stream in the outdoor area at The Magic House. What fun!
